SENFENG Completes SF3015HM 6kW Sheet and Tube Laser Cutter Installation in the USA
SENFENG has recently completed the installation and commissioning of an SF3015HM 6kW sheet and tube laser cutting machine at a processing facility in the United States. Combining sheet metal and tube cutting capabilities in one machine, the SF3015HM provides a flexible solution for manufacturers working with different types of metal materials and profiles.
The service project covered equipment positioning, mechanical assembly, electrical connection, machine calibration, sheet and tube cutting tests, parameter adjustment, and operator training. The installation team also carried out application-based testing to help establish practical cutting conditions for the materials and profiles available on site.
Preparing the Machine for Installation
August 14, 2026
The first stage focused on positioning the machine in its designated production area. Lifting equipment was used to safely move the machine into place before the packaging was removed and the main components were inspected.
Once the equipment was positioned, the installation team began preparing the machine for assembly and leveling. Fastening arrangements were also evaluated according to the actual site conditions, and an appropriate anchoring method was selected to facilitate the installation.
After the mechanical preparation was completed, the installation proceeded to the platform and tube-cutting sections.
Building the sheet and Tube Cutting System
August 18–19, 2026
The SF3015HM integrates sheet and tube processing capabilities, so installation required careful coordination between the main cutting bed, exchange platform, and tube cutting unit.
The installation team worked through the rear platform and tube machine foundation areas, aligned the connecting sections, and mounted the crossbeam. Pneumatic connections and exchange-platform components were checked and prepared as part of the mechanical setup.
The following day, work moved to the cutting head, cable routing, and tube cutting unit. Corrugated conduits and cable trays were arranged according to the machine structure and available installation space. The routing was optimized to keep the cables organized and protected while maintaining accessibility for operation and maintenance.
Electrical connections were reviewed against the machine documentation during the installation process. Relevant circuits and terminal connections were checked carefully before the equipment proceeded to power-on commissioning.
System Connection and Machine Commissioning
August 20, 2026
With the mechanical installation and electrical preparation in place, the machine was connected to the power supply and powered on.
Initial commissioning included checking machine movement, control functions, cutting-head positioning, and related operating systems. The laser beam alignment was then verified through photo-paper testing to establish the basic optical alignment required for cutting.
The tube cutting unit was commissioned at the same time. Its movement and operating functions were checked to ensure coordinated operation with the overall sheet-and-tube cutting system.
The first cutting trials were carried out using 6 mm and 18 mm carbon steel. These tests allowed the installation team to verify the basic cutting process and establish initial parameters for subsequent optimization.
Expanding Material and Profile Testing
August 24–25, 2026
After the initial cutting trials, the commissioning process moved toward more application-oriented testing.
Because the SF3015HM is designed to process both sheets and tubes, a wider selection of materials and tube profiles was prepared for testing. The installation team evaluated different workpiece dimensions and adjusted cutting parameters based on the characteristics of each material.
Tube and structural-profile cutting received particular attention. Additional profiles were selected for testing to demonstrate the machine’s capabilities across different tube-processing applications.
During the testing process, the engineer also verified the relationship between workpiece dimensions and the applicable clamping range. This provided useful reference conditions for future tube-cutting jobs and helped operators understand how to select suitable workpieces for the machine.
Gas supply equipment was also checked as part of the cutting setup, ensuring that the required cutting conditions were available for the trials.
Hands-On Operator Training
August 26, 2026
Once the main commissioning work was completed, the project moved into the operator training stage.
The training combined theoretical explanation with hands-on operation. Operators were introduced to the machine’s basic workflow, including startup procedures, material preparation, cutting program setup, parameter selection, cutting-head operation, and shutdown procedures.
For sheet metal applications, the training covered the complete process from positioning the sheet to carrying out the cutting operation.
For tube applications, the operators practiced material loading, clamping, profile positioning, program preparation, and the basic workflow for tube and profile cutting.
The hands-on approach allowed operators to become familiar with the machine through practical exercises rather than relying solely on theoretical instruction.
Practical Guidance for Future Production
August 27, 2026
Following the training session, the operators continued practicing with the machine to reinforce the procedures covered during training.
To support future operation, a step-by-step operating procedure was also prepared for reference. This provides operators with a convenient guide to the machine workflow and helps them quickly review key operating steps when needed.
By the end of the project, the SENFENG SF3015HM 6kW sheet and tube laser cutting machine had completed mechanical installation, electrical connection, system commissioning, sheet and tube cutting trials, parameter optimization, and operator training.
The completed project demonstrates SENFENG’s comprehensive approach to equipment installation and application support, helping users establish a reliable workflow for both sheet metal and tube laser cutting.
