SENFENG SF7524GNT 6kW Laser Tube Cutter Commissioned in the United States

SENFENG has completed the installation, commissioning, and operator training of its SF7524GNT 6kW laser tube cutting machine in the United States. The project, led by after-sales engineer Mr. Liu, covered the complete installation process, laser commissioning, cutting parameter development, and practical production training.

A key part of the project was preparing the machine to process carbon steel tubes in various dimensions, with particular emphasis on 45° bevel cutting. Both air cutting and oxygen cutting were included in the trials, allowing the engineer to optimize processing parameters for different applications. Extensive testing and on-site adjustments helped establish suitable cutting conditions for more than 20 tube specifications.

Step-by-Step Installation and System Setup

September 21–25, 2026

The project began with an inspection of the machine components and accessories, followed by the installation of the main machine bed and the auxiliary beds on the loading and unloading sides.

After completing the main structural assembly, the engineer proceeded with the installation of the Z-axis module and cutting head. Electrical and utility connections were then completed in stages, including machine cabling, water pipelines, cable carriers, and the laser source connections.

The remaining installation work covered the chiller, safety light curtain, operator display, control buttons, and sheet-metal panels. Each stage helped prepare the machine for integrated system checks and initial operation.

Motion Checks and Laser Commissioning

September 28–29, 2026

With the compressed-air piping connected, the machine was powered on for its initial motion tests. All axes operated normally, allowing commissioning to proceed to the laser source and cutting functions.

During laser testing, the engineer performed additional checks on the control connections and laser status. Further investigation revealed that the mobile monitoring application was displaying an incorrect status. After the laser source was properly unlocked, laser output returned to normal.

The machine then proceeded to functional commissioning and cutting preparation. With the basic operating functions verified, the next priority was optimizing the process for bevel cutting, which required more extensive testing than standard straight cuts.

Fine-Tuning Air and Oxygen Cutting Parameters

September 30 – October 2, 2026

Cutting parameter optimization was one of the most important stages of the project. The applications involved multiple carbon steel tube sizes, different cutting conditions, and a requirement for 45° bevels.

During the initial trials, the engineer inspected the assist-gas supply after observing repeated protective lens contamination. The inspection identified a problem with a precision filter connector. Replacing the connector restored the gas line’s normal operation, enabling the cutting trials to continue.

The following day, the engineer focused on establishing suitable parameters for both air cutting and oxygen cutting on the same tube materials. The majority of the work involved carbon steel tubes with wall thicknesses starting at 3.5 mm. In addition to straight cutting, the required 45° bevels called for careful adjustments to achieve the desired edge quality.

On October 2, the testing program expanded to more than 20 tube specifications. Tubes of different dimensions were processed individually to verify the corresponding cutting parameters and results. The trials delivered satisfactory cutting quality, providing a practical foundation for subsequent production work.

Production Testing and Operator Training

October 5–8, 2026

Following the main cutting trials, the engineer carried out additional machine operation checks and continued preparing the equipment for production.

On October 5, a support bracket sensor required positional adjustment during a machine movement test. After the sensor was adjusted, normal operation was restored, and the commissioning work continued.

Hands-on operator training began on October 6. The sessions covered the operating interface, machine functions, and practical cutting procedures. The operators also practiced 45° bevel cutting, with additional parameter adjustments performed to achieve the required results.

The training subsequently progressed to more advanced production tasks. On October 7, the engineer worked on the drawing import process for batch bevel cutting from full-length tubes and addressed workflow requirements related to residual material management. These tasks required further software and process verification.

On October 8, training and production assistance continued, giving the operators more opportunities to practice machine operation and cutting preparation. The emphasis was on building familiarity with the equipment and applying the established cutting parameters in practical work.

Final Verification and Project Completion

October 9–10, 2026

The final stage involved inspecting a support bracket affected during operation and evaluating the relevant components. Replacement parts were arranged as needed, and further adjustments were carried out as part of the machine’s final preparation.

On October 10, the engineer completed the remaining machine adjustments and conducted additional tube cutting tests. The final tests confirmed normal machine operation and satisfactory cutting performance.

After the commissioning and training activities were completed, the project documentation was signed, marking the conclusion of the on-site service.

Supporting Reliable Tube Cutting Production

The SENFENG SF7524GNT 6kW laser tube cutting machine project demonstrates the importance of combining thorough installation, application-specific parameter optimization, and practical operator training.

From initial assembly and laser commissioning to air and oxygen cutting trials, the work addressed the requirements of processing multiple tube specifications and producing 45° bevels. Testing more than 20 tube sizes also helped establish suitable processing parameters for a wider range of production tasks.

Through on-site technical support and hands-on training, SENFENG helps users prepare their laser tube cutting equipment for practical manufacturing applications, with a focus on cutting quality, operational proficiency, and production readiness.
