SF4020H 20kW Fiber Laser Cutting Machine Installed and Commissioned in the USA
SENFENG recently completed the installation and commissioning of an SF4020H 20kW fiber laser cutting machine in the United States. The project included mechanical assembly, cable routing, electrical setup, system testing, cutting parameter adjustment, and operator training.
Over the course of the installation, SENFENG after-sales engineer Mr. Liu worked through each stage of the machine setup and commissioning, ensuring that the equipment was properly assembled, tested, and ready for production.
From Machine Positioning to Complete Assembly
Aug. 28–Sep. 3, 2026
The installation started with positioning the main machine and assembling the crossbeam. The loading and unloading platforms were placed in their designated positions, followed by the installation of the machine’s major mechanical components.
As the assembly progressed, the engineer installed the cable carriers and sheet-metal components while routing the required electrical and signal cables. The fiber cable was then installed, along with the cutting head and related components.
By Sep. 3, the majority of the mechanical installation had been completed, allowing the project to move into the electrical connection and commissioning stage.
Electrical Connections and Auxiliary System Setup
Aug. 31–Sep. 4, 2026
The next stage focused on electrical wiring and integration of the machine’s auxiliary equipment. Cables were organized and routed according to the machine’s electrical configuration, and the necessary connections were completed.
The machine was powered on for initial commissioning on Sep. 4. The safety circuit was checked as part of the startup process, followed by system testing and verification.
The supporting equipment was also commissioned during this stage. The water chiller and dust collector were configured and checked, while the cooling circuit was filled and secured. The exchange table was subsequently tested to verify its movement and gas connections.
With the main systems operating together, the machine was ready for parameter adjustment and cutting trials.
Parameter Adjustment and Cutting Commissioning
Sep. 8, 2026
After the installation was completed, the engineer proceeded with machine parameter optimization and cutting commissioning.
Actual cutting tests were carried out to evaluate the machine’s operating performance and establish suitable cutting parameters. The commissioning process also covered the machine’s operating workflow, providing a practical transition from equipment setup to production use.
These hands-on tests helped verify the overall operation of the 20kW fiber laser cutting machine before formal operator training.
Hands-On Training for Daily Operation
Sep. 8–9, 2026
Following commissioning, on-site operator training was conducted to familiarize the production team with the SF4020H.
The training combined operational instruction with practical cutting exercises. Key topics included machine startup and operation, cutting procedures, parameter adjustment, and full-sheet cutting.
Practical exercises allowed the operators to become familiar with the machine’s workflow while gaining experience with actual production operations. Guidance was also provided on cutting-head consumables and routine maintenance to support consistent machine operation.
Final Testing and Project Completion
Sep. 10, 2026
The final stage included additional operational guidance and completion of the acceptance process. The engineer reviewed the proper selection and replacement of cutting-head consumables and answered questions related to daily machine operation.
After completing mechanical installation, electrical commissioning, cutting tests, and operator training, the SF4020H 20kW fiber laser cutting machine successfully completed the acceptance process.
The project was then officially completed, with the machine fully installed, commissioned, and ready to support high-power metal sheet cutting applications.
